If you have the OHSAS 18001 for your workplace, then you will need to transition very soon to ISO 45001. Originally, the deadline for this was March 11, 2021. However, due to COVID-19, the migration deadline has been extended 6 months to September 30, 2021.

What is ISO 45001?
ISO 45001 is the international ISO standard for occupational health and safety management systems (OHSMS) that will replace OHSAS 18001.
The goal of ISO 45001 is to help businesses protect workers and guests from work-related accidents and diseases, and this is so important to follow - in fact,153 people were injured at work while you read this sentence. The standard provides guidance that senior management can use to create a safe working environment, control factors that cause illness and injury, preserve workers' physical and mental well-being and reduce business risk.

What's the difference?
Although ISO 45001 is heavily informed by OHSAS 18001, it’s a distinctly new standard — not a simple revision or brief update, so it's best not to wait until the last minute on this one.
IBEC can help you to have a smooth transition to ISO 45001: 2018.
