Khizer Motiwala
Founder and CEO of GALIDE

Khizer Motiwala is one of those people whose presence alone pulls you into his orbit as he is so passionate about what he is doing that he lights up just by speaking about it.  Khizer Motiwala is the Founder and CEO of the e-waste recycler GALIDE.

Khizer officially registered his business as GALIDE in 2016, however, he founded it under a different name in 2012.  Still, he has been active in the e-waste recycling since before then, and it’s his previous activity in buying and celling e-waste products that led Khizer to founding the company.  They specialize in Apple products.  He had worked with many other ITAD (IT Asset Disposition) companies previously, and saw an opportunity to do it better.

The company is based in Houston, Texas.  And Khizer Motiwala has deep roots in Texas, having earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University.

When it comes to doing it better as an ITAD company, Khizer is thinking big.  In fact, Khizer is doing what is referred to as a paradigm shift.  They are building a tech platform that will transform how the ITAD world operates.

Khizer Motiwala believes in radical transparency.  This means that their clients, vendors, and the marketplace at large can have total visibility into what happens with all the devices they get at GALIDE.

As is the case, they already share real-life pictures with GALIDE’s clients to showcase what happens and how their devices are processed.  These images provide visibility into how the electronic devices degrading, and the like.

Khizer Motiwala’s mission is to grow GALIDE to become the biggest provider of electronics buybacks.  And they are presently working on implementing a system that will be a portal for clients to have full visibility into how their asset retirement is progressing.

Khizer truly values the leaders that are around him at GALIDE.  This includes their VP of Procurement George Weisgerber, as well as Khizer’s two younger brothers.  Both of his brothers have graduated from the University of Houston.  One of them earned a degree in supply chain management, which is very handy for the business, and the other brother majored in accounting, and is not working on completing his CPA studies.  All of this expertise puts GALIDE on sound footing.

Khizer Motiwala is at the forefront of everything, which is why as GALIDE’s leader he was very determined to show his commitment to sustainability by achieving R2 Certification.  On this journey to R2 Certification, Khizer worked with Bardia Vahidi, IBEC’s Founder and President.  And this was a very successful collaboration.  They have since built an ongoing partnership.

Just as Khizer is intentional about achieving cutting-edge results for GALIDE, he is intentional about personal continuous improvements and achieving new heights.  Speaking of heights, Khizer loves the soaring feeling from literally going into the skies as he is a licensed pilot.  Khizer embarked on the journey of learning to fly about seven years ago.  And with his determination, he became a licensed pilot.  He strives for personal excellence on the ground as well, which is why he plays squash seven days a week.

Khizer Motiwala hopes to be a role model for his two children.  His son is six years old, while his daughter has turned two.  And Khizer is very grateful to his wife for her support and encouragement.
